Mafia 2 Rating

When Mafia 2 came out, we said we would have a review of it, so here it is.

Let me just say that Mafia 2 is rated M for a reason. There is lots of violence with guns, and swearing is common. I have to say that sometimes this games goes a bit too far, which kind of takes out from the experience. However, overall this is a great game to try.

The setting of the game is great; from the 1940's to 1950's. You start off as a guy name Vido, and with the help of your friend Joe, steal and loot stores, and solve missions for probably one of the best storylines in video game history.

The game isn't really a sand-box mode game, as you can't interact with every store or person. The stores that you can rob or destroy are stores like clothing stores and gun shops. This is mainly done to get money.

However, there is a huge downturn to this game. Driving probably takes up about 30 percent of gameplay, so a lot of the time you are just driving around, trying not to make the police pissed at you.

However, the main part of this game is the storyline. I actually enjoyed watching the cut-scenes so I could find out about the various jobs I was taking up. However, you had to drive to all of these jobs, which sometimes was across a whole city. The game also sometimes is a bit scary, and should tone it down a bit.

Should you buy this game? If you won't get scared (by some missions), and want to try out an interesting game based in the 1900's, this game is for you. The storyline is great and will keep you hooked for a long time.
